Does cycling in Wolfenbuettel feel easy enough yet?

The town is compact enough that many trips could be easy by bike, especially between neighborhoods and the center. Where does Wolfenbuettel still feel awkward or unsafe for everyday cycling: crossings, school routes, station access or evening lighting?
