Where would you send a newcomer for one evening in Changchun?

If a newcomer only had one evening to understand Changchun, where would you send them? Not a checklist, just one area to walk slowly, grab something simple, and watch the street change from late afternoon to night. I keep thinking about Chaoyang, Jingyue, and the stretch near People's Square.
