What local habit in Dalian took time to understand?

What local habit in Dalian confused you at first but now makes total sense? Mine is how people read the flow of scooters, buses, and side streets half a second earlier than I do. Somewhere between Xigang and Ganjingzi, the rhythm finally started to click.
