Where do you take visitors beyond Connaught Place?

For friends who have already done India Gate and Khan Market, what part of Delhi gives them a more honest feel of the city? I keep debating between Majnu ka Tilla, Mehrauli, and a slower old Delhi food-and-lane wander.
